A warm welcome to you to the biggest forum of Commerce teachers in the state of Goa. It is indeed an honour to get the opportunity to serve as the President of this esteemed association of people who have dedicated themselves to the noble cause of teaching and particularly commerce teaching thereby indirectly contributing to the process of development of the country.
The Goa Commerce Association was formed in the year 2002 to promote teaching and research in Commerce and related fields. It further aims at providing a forum to commerce teachers in the state to discuss developments in the discipline of commerce and issues concerning the domain and the teachers. Over a period of time, GCA has grown into a network of intellectuals which has contributed in knowledge enhancement for and protection of interest of commerce teachers in Goa. I would like to make specific mention of (Late) Prof. Uma Pulapaka from Shree Damodar College of Commerce and Economics, Margao, for her immense contribution to the objects of the association.
I am also thankful to all the past presidents of the association who have over past 13 years of existence of this association represented GCA on various academic and industry platforms.
I wish to further consolidate the efforts of the association on focused activities of research in commerce and enhancement of quality of commerce education. I wish to make network building as the thrust area of GCA in these two years by associating with similar organizations in India and abroad as well as undertaking collaborative initiatives with the industry.
I am fortunate to have an excellent team in this mission and request for a wholehearted support from each of the members of GCA. Do provide your valuable inputs and guidance on achieving the objectives of our association.
